The History of the Mother Church:

The history of the Mother Church dates back to 1989 when Zachary Kakobe founded the Full Gospel Bible Fellowship Church. In mid April 1989, he gathered 13 young converts and camped in his residential house at Kijitonyama, Dar-Es-Salaam for an intensive two-week Bible Study course. Thereafter, on Sunday April 30, 1989, he started the first Full Gospel Bible Fellowship Church, Sunday Worship Service with the 13 faithfuls at Jamhuri Primary School Hall in Mnazi Mmoja area, Dar-Es-Salaam.

From this humble beginning, the church has grown so fast over the years. On Sunday May 10, 1992, the Sunday Morning Worship Service attendance was 544 adults, and on Sunday June 12, 1994, the Sunday Morning Worship Service attendance reached a megachurch mark. The attendance on that day was 2,037 adults. Since then, the church has continued to be a megachurch with thousands of people flocking to Sunday Morning Worshp Services; not to mention the Miracle Healing Services which have been attracting a far higher attendance. In the early years of ministry, Miracle Healing Services were held on weekdays and the first service to record an attendance of more than 2,000 adults was on Monday November 30, 1992, which registered an attendance of 2,503 adults. Since then, Miracle Healing Services have attracted thousands of people and even five-digit attendances have been recorded in some of the services.

It is also good to note that, when Kakobe founded the church in April 1989, he also had in mind the training of Pastors. A few months later he started Bible classes towards the cause. To date, Kakobe has personally trained and sent out into the Lord's fields, more than 700 Pastors.

On Sunday March 7, 1993, he ordained the first batch of 28 Pastors (19 Pastors and 9 Assistant Pastors) and commissioned them to open up the first 19 branch or daughter churches in all the then 19 regional headquarter towns in Tanzania mainland; and by February 2000, Bishop Zachary Kakobe had already planted more than 1000 branch or daughter churches, scattered across all the regions and districts of Tanzania mainland.

Equally noteworthy is the changes of places of Worship of the Mother Church, over the years. As said earlier, on Sunday April 30, 1989, the Church began to worship at the Jamhuri Primary School Hall, Mnazi Mmoja area.

Thereafter, changes of places of Worship were necessitated because of shortage of space as the church grew, and other factors. From Sunday February 23, 1992, the Mother Church used the National Correspondence Institute Hall, UWT Street as its place of Worship and afterwards, the place of Worship changed again. From Sunday October 31, 1993, the PTA Hall at Sabasaba Grounds, Kilwa Road, became the new place of Worship. This was the last rented hall that was used by the Mother Church as a place of Worship.
On Tuesday March 22, 1994, the Mother Church acquired its own land on Sam Nujoma Road, Mwenge area; and her own house of Worship was built within a short period, by a large labor force, working day and night. On Sunday May 15, 1994, the Mother Church started to worship in its own house of Worship on the newly acquired land, and the place of Worship has remained the same ever since.

The temporary cancellation of the Services is due to extensive preparations going on for the next phase of Revival. However, at the end of all Sunday Main Services, the Pastor says a short general prayer for every need; and it really works wonders! The "Hour of Wonders" Service has been replaced by a 30 minute "Service of Thankfulness". The normal Schedule of Services is expected to resume in the near future. Thank you for your patience!

A Word from the Pastor:

"In this Church, we preach pure unadulterated Word of God. We strongly emphasize Holiness without which no man shall see the Lord (HEBREWS 12:14). For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth (2 CORINTHIANS 13:8). If you love deceit (ISAIAH 30:9-10), then this Church is not for you!"
